Assistant Professor Position in Applied Data Science
Modul University Vienna (MU) is seeking an outstanding scholar to teach,
raise external funding and conduct research in the area of Applied Data
Science with a special focus on Machine Learning and Data Mining. The
candidate should have a track record in one or more of the following
areas: Machine learning, data mining, natural language processing,
intelligent systems, or recommendation systems. Additional experience in
areas such as computational statistics, analysis of the large-scale
data, and analysis of data generated in online systems, as well as,
industry experience in one or more of these areas are highly
appreciated. Furthermore, strong methodological background and
analytical skills are desirable.
This is a tenure track position starting with a fix period of five

# Overview
Formal Concept Analysis emerged in the 1980's from attempts to
restructure lattice theory in order to promote better communication
between lattice theorists and potential users of lattice theory. Since
its early years, Formal Concept Analysis has developed into a research
field in its own right with a thriving theoretical community and a
rapidly expanding range of applications in information and knowledge
processing including visualization, data analysis (mining) and knowledge
management and discovery.
The ICFCA conference series aims at bringing together researchers and
practitioners working on theoretical or applied aspects of Formal
Concept Analysis within major related areas such as Mathematics and
Computer and Information Sciences and their diverse applications to
fields like Software Engineering, Linguistics, Life and Social Sciences,
etc.
All accepted submissions will be refereed, and the conference
proceedings will be published by Springer in the LNCS/LNAI series.

We invite scientific publications on theory and applications of Formal
Concept Analysis. Papers of up to sixteen pages may be submitted in the
PDF format. This year, the conference uses the Springer EquinOCS
platform as a submission system for the first time.

We are pleased to invite the academic and business community to submit their papers to CISTI'2023 - 18th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies, to be held in Aveiro, Portugal, between the 20th and 23th of June 2023. Authors are encouraged to submit original scientific contributions such as state-of-art reviews and new research perspectives, groundbreaking ideas and/or architectures, solutions and/or applications for real problems, empirical and/or evaluation works, case studies, etc., in conformity with the themes of this Conference.
Four types of papers can be submitted:
Full paper: Finished or consolidated R&D works, to be included in one of the Conference themes. These papers are assigned a 6-page limit.
Short paper: Ongoing works with relevant preliminary results, opened to discussion. These papers are assigned a 4-page limit.
Poster paper: Initial work with relevant ideas, opened to discussion. These papers are assigned a 2-page limit.
Company paper: Companies' papers that show practical experience, R & D, tools, etc., focused in some topics of the conference. These articles are abstracts with a maximum of 2 pages.
Papers submitted for the Scientific Committee’s evaluation must not include any information leading to the authors’ identification. Therefore, the authors’ names, affiliations and bibliographic references should not be included in the early version. This information should only be included in the final version.
Submitted papers must not have been published and must not be under review for any other conference and national or international publication.
Papers must comply with the format standard <https://mkt.saisti.eu/go/-70a20dde1-16cf35603717a875c9199b67-3a122ec7f84912…> and be written in Portuguese, Spanish or English.
All papers will be subjected to a “blind review” by at least two members of the Scientific Committee.
Full papers can be accepted as short papers or poster papers only. Similarly, short papers can be accepted as poster papers only. In these two cases, the authors will be allowed to maintain the original number of pages in the proceedings publication.
The authors of accepted poster papers must also build and print a poster to be exhibited during the Conference. This poster must follow an A1 or A2 vertical format. The Conference includes Work Sessions where these posters are presented and orally discussed, with a 5-minute limit per poster.
The authors of accepted full papers will dispose of a 15-minute presentation in the Conference Work Session, and approximately 5 minutes of discussion will follow each presentation. The authors of accepted short papers and company papers will dispose of an 11-minute presentation in the Conference Work Session, and approximately 4 minutes of discussion will follow each presentation.

Publication and Indexing
To ensure that the contribution (full paper, short paper, symposium doctoral paper) is published in the Proceedings, at least one of the authors must be fully registered by the 9th of April, and the paper must comply with the suggested layout and page-limit. Additionally, all recommended modifications must be addressed by the authors before they submit the final version.
No more than one paper per registration will be published in the Conference Proceedings. An extra fee must be paid for publication of additional papers, with a maximum of one additional paper per registration.
Full and short papers, including symposium doctoral papers, will be submitted for inclusion/indexing into IEEE XPlore, WoS, SCOPUS, EI-Compendex, INSPEC and Google Scholar.

JCDL 2023 offers two paper submission deadlines: Submissions for
research papers (long or short) are due on January 29, 2023. The
deadline for late-breaking results and datasets is February
12, 2023. The submission formats are outlined below.
*Research Papers* (deadline: January 29, 2023)
Authors may choose between two formats:
- /Full papers/ have at most 10 pages and report on mature work, or
efforts that have reached an important milestone. They will get
presentation slots of 20 to 30 minutes.
- /Short papers/ have at most 4 pages and highlight efforts that might
be in an early stage, but are important for the community to be made
aware of; they can also present theories or systems that can be
described concisely in the limited space. Short papers will get
presentation slots of 10 to 15 minutes.
*Late Breaking Results and Datasets* (deadline: February 12, 2023)
This comprises submissions falling into the following categories:
- /Late breaking results/ present new insights or information about
research that was completed after the research paper submission
deadline.
- /Dataset submissions/ a new category that allow description of
relevant research datasets. These need to be either fully publicly
available or have to contain a publicly available subset.
Late Breaking Results and Datasets submissions should be 2-4 pages and
will be allotted a 5 minute presentation slot at the conference.

under review for publication elsewhere, in English, in PDF format, and
in the current ACM two-column conference format. Suitable LaTeX, Word,
and Overleaf templates are available from the ACM Website (use

Complete papers are required; submissions consisting solely of an
abstract or those that are otherwise incomplete will not be reviewed.

The goal is to develop GAN-based synthesis algorithms to generate anonymous, freely usable datasets that allow for specific, data-driven analyzes but do not disclose real people or violate their privacy.

The purpose of CISTI'2022’s Doctoral Symposium is to provide graduate students a setting where they can, informally, expose and discuss their work, collecting valuable expert opinions and sharing new ideas, methods and applications. The Doctoral Symposium is an excellent opportunity for PhD students to present and discuss their work in a Workshop format. Each presentation will be evaluated by a panel composed by at least three Information Systems and Technologies experts.
Contributions Submission
The Doctoral Symposium is opened to PhD students whose research area includes the themes proposed for this Conference. The International Conferences on Conceptual Structures (ICCS) focus on the formal analysis and representation of conceptual knowledge at the crossroads of artificial intelligence, human cognition, computational linguistics, and related areas of computer science and cognitive science. The ICCS conferences evolved from seven annual workshops on conceptual graphs, starting with an informal gathering hosted by John F. Sowa in 1986. Recently, graph-based knowledge representation and reasoning (KRR) paradigms have been getting more and more attention. With the rise of quasi-autonomous AI, graph-based representations provide a vehicle for making machine cognition explicit to human users. ICCS 2023 will take place in Berlin, Germany, in September 2023. Scholars, students and industry participants from different disciplines will meet for several weeks of conferences, workshops, summer schools, and public events to engage with the broad topics, issues and challenges related to knowledge in the 21st century.
Submissions are invited on significant, original, and previously unpublished research on the formal analysis and representation of conceptual knowledge in artificial intelligence (AI). All papers will receive mindful and rigorous reviews that will provide authors with useful critical feedback. The aim of the ICCS 2023 conference is to build upon its long-standing expertise in graph-based KRR and focus on providing modelling, formal and application results of graph-based systems. We invite scientific papers of up to fourteen pages, short contributions of up to eight pages, and extended poster abstracts of up to three pages. Papers and poster abstracts must be formatted according to Springer’s LNCS style guidelines and not exceed the page limit. Papers will be subject to double-blind peer review, in which the reviewers do not know the author's identity. We recommend using services like https://anonymous.4open.science/ to anonymously share code or data. Anonymized works that are available as preprints (e.g., on arXiv or SSRN) may be submitted without citing them. Submission should be made via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iccs2023. All paper submissions will be refereed, and authors will have the opportunity to respond to reviewers’ comments during the rebuttal phase. Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings, published by Springer in the LNCS/LNAI series. Poster submissions will also be refereed and selected poster abstracts might be included in the conference proceedings. At least one author of each accepted paper or poster must register for the conference and present the paper or poster there. Proceedings will be indexed by DBLP.

# Call for Workshops and Tutorials
The ICFCA 2023 Organizing Committee invites proposals for
workshops/tutorials to be held on the first day of the conference (July
17, 2023), which will take place in Kassel, Germany. We invite proposals
for both **full- and half-day workshops/tutorial** in current and
emerging topics in (or related to) Formal Concept Analysis. The workshop
and tutorials provide an opportunity to discuss novel topics in an
interactive atmosphere. They can concentrate in-depth on research
topics, but can also be devoted to application issues.
ICFCA 2023 will be a hybrid conference with a strong emphasis on on-site
interaction. Therefore all contributors are required to present their
work locally in Kassel.
# Duration & format
We welcome both full- and half-day workshop/tutorial proposals. We would
like to encourage proposers to aim for a program that is both varied and
interesting. For workshops, especially where the format is concerned, we
would like you to think about ways of going beyond the usual list of
presentations of accepted papers. Another way of extending the usual
format is to include a specific challenge problem that can be addressed
by the workshop participants, with a dedicated challenge session in the
workshop program. Note, however, that the challenge should be only one
of the components of the workshop, targeting a problem which is specific
to the workshop topic(s).
# Combined Tutorial & Workshop
Especially for a relatively novel but rapidly maturing topic, giving an
introduction of the state-of-the-art may go beyond the scope of an
invited presentation. In this case, a half day tutorial followed by a
half day workshop could be a good format.
# Guidelines for proposals
When proposing a workshop or a tutorial, please provide (at least) the
following information:
- A brief description of
- the specific issues that will be addressed,
- the reasons why the workshop/tutorial is of interest in these times,
- the main research areas involved,
- and what the workshop/tutorial will add to the conference (e.g., do
you expect papers of a theme that would not fit the main conference?).
- For workshops,
- a draft of the Call for Papers, including information on accepted
formats (e.g., regular papers, extended abstracts, oral-only
presentations of relevant recently published or submitted contributions,
etc.)
- and expected format of the workshop (e.g., invited talks,
presentations, poster sessions, panel discussions, challenge sessions,
or other ideas for ensuring an interactive atmosphere).
- In the case of a combined tutorial-workshop, please clearly
indicate the format.
- Any special requirements regarding logistics (e.g., poster stands,
audio equipment), if applicable.

The notion of what constitutes a digital library has evolved over time.
In recent years, the ability to retain a digital record of the volatile
world has been of critical importance for ensuring that our collective
history is available for posterity. Progressing research and
disseminating state-of-the-art advancements in digital libraries are
thus of supreme importance to humanity.
The annual ACM/IEEE Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL) is
the primary international event for the inter- and multi-disciplinary
community of academics and practitioners in digital libraries coming
from computer, information and social sciences, and other related
disciplines. JCDL encompasses the many meanings of the term digital
libraries, including notions of managing, operating, developing,
curating, evaluating, or utilizing collections of
data/information/knowledge in various domains.

*Paper Types and Formats*
JCDL 2023 offers two paper submission deadlines: Submissions for
research papers (long or short) are due on January 29, 2023. The
deadline for late-breaking results and datasets is February
12, 2023. The submission formats are outlined below.
*Research Papers* (deadline: January 29, 2023)
Authors may choose between two formats:
- /Full papers/ have at most 10 pages and report on mature work, or
efforts that have reached an important milestone. They will get
presentation slots of 20 to 30 minutes.
- /Short papers/ have at most 4 pages and highlight efforts that might
be in an early stage, but are important for the community to be made
aware of; they can also present theories or systems that can be
described concisely in the limited space. Short papers will get
presentation slots of 10 to 15 minutes.
*Late Breaking Results and Datasets* (deadline: February 12, 2023)
This comprises submissions falling into the following categories:
- /Late breaking results/ present new insights or information about
research that was completed after the research paper submission
deadline.
- /Dataset submissions/ a new category that allow description of
relevant research datasets. These need to be either fully publicly
available or have to contain a publicly available subset.
Late Breaking Results and Datasets submissions should be 2-4 pages and
will be allotted a 5 minute presentation slot at the conference.
*Submission Guidelines*
All submissions must be original works, not previously published or
under review for publication elsewhere, in English, in PDF format, and
in the current ACM two-column conference format. Suitable LaTeX, Word,
and Overleaf templates are available from the ACM Website (use
"sigconf" proceedings template for LaTeX and the Interim Template for
Word, https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template).
Complete papers are required; submissions consisting solely of an
abstract or those that are otherwise incomplete will not be reviewed.
For all formats, references do not count to the page
limit. Submissions are to be made via
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=jcdl2023
*All submissions will be rigorously peer-reviewed in a double-blind
reviewing process.*
*Submissions must be anonymous* and all references to authors' works
have to be anonymized. We recommend using services like
https://anonymous.4open.science/ to anonymously share code or
data. Anonymized works that are available as preprints (e.g., on arXiv
or SSRN) may be submitted without citing them. Reviewers will be
instructed not to actively look for such preprints, and finding such a
preprint does not clash with our submission policies.
All accepted papers will be included in the proceedings and will be
presented at the conference. At least one author of each accepted
paper is required to register for, and present the work at the
conference on-site in Santa Fe. In case of traveling restrictions
(COVID related or otherwise), an exception may be made to allow
authors to present the work remotely.
