The Data Science Chair at JMU Würzburg [1] as a member of the Center for AI and Data Science (CAIDAS) offers two positions for doctoral researchers (m/w/d) in the area of machine learning. Both positions are bound to a project, with an initial duration of two years with the possibility of further extension. Payment is at the level of E13 according to the German federal wage agreement scheme (TV-L). Candidates are expected to have a strong background in computer science and mathematics, with a specialisation in machine learning and interest in the topic of one of the projects. The first project is focused on the development and application of methods to enrich live chats of typical stream platforms like Twitch.tv with links to relevant information: you will work with industry partners to analyse the current topics of discussions in live chats and provide links to the partners' websites with information about these topics. This will be done, for example, by developing metric learning methods to find accurate representations of the available content and matching them with the current topics as well as the users' interests. The second project, HydrAS [2], has a stronger focus on theoretical research. Here, you have the opportunity to work on our HypTrails method, which can be used to compare different hypotheses about user behaviour by means of bayesian statistics. HydrAS aims to extend this method with (semi-)automatic generation and testing of hypotheses as well as include more powerful statistical models like continuous time Markov chain models. Liebe KDML-Enthusiasten, Wir haben am Forschungszentrum L3S eine Stelle als Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in (m/w/d) als *Gruppenleitung Künstliche Intelligenz* (EntgGr. 15 TV-L, 100 %) zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt zu besetzen. Die Stelle ist zunächst für drei Jahre befristet, mit Möglichkeit zur Verlängerung. Der Stellenumfang entspricht 100 % der tariflichen Arbeitszeit. Aufgaben: Im Rahmen neuer und bestehender Forschungsprojekte des L3S und des European Digital Innovation Hubs für Künstliche Intelligenz und Cybersecurity (DIH4AISec) werden Methoden der KI u.a. in den Bereichen Produktion, Mobilität, und Handwerk eingesetzt und weiterentwickelt, mit einer Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Datenmodalitäten. Ihre Aufgabe besteht in der selbständigen Bearbeitung entsprechender Forschungsfragen und -Teilprojekte gemeinsam mit allen Projektpartnern, in der Entwicklung und Koordinierung von Wissenstransfer- und Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen, der Kommunikation und Zusammenarbeit mit regionalen Unternehmen, in der Publikation von wissenschaftlichen Ergebnissen Ihrer Forschung sowie der Projektkoordination der Ihnen zugeordneten Projekte. Einstellungsvoraussetzungen: Voraussetzung für die Einstellung ist ein abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium in der Informatik oder aus einem ähnlichen Bereich sowie vertieftes Wissen in den Schwerpunktbereichen Künstliche Intelligenz und Maschinelles Lernen. Eine abgeschlossene einschlägige Promotion wird erwartet. Dear all, We have a vacancy at the L3S Research Center in Hannover for a Research Associate (PhD student, m/f/d) - Machine Learning (salary grade 13 TV-L, 100%) to be filled as soon as possible. The position is limited until 2024/2025, depending on the project, and offers the possibility to do a PhD, open for renewal after the first contract. Tasks At L3S, new machine learning methods are developed with a broad spectrum of applications, ranging from production and mobility to the development of digital twins. Your task will be to work independently on corresponding interdisciplinary research questions and development tasks in the context of projects in the field of machine learning, to contribute to knowledge transfer and training, to work with regional businesses on applications of AI, and to publish research results at international conferences and in scientific journals. Recruitment Requirements The prerequisite for employment is a completed scientific university degree (Master or Diploma) in computer science or from a similar field. Vollzeit – E14 TV-L HU (Drittmittelfinanzierung befristet bis 30.11.2025) https://hu.berlin/DR-081-22 Im Rahmen des BMBF-Projekts *AI-SKILLS – Anwendungsorientierte Infrastruktur für KI-Communities in Lehr-Lern-Settings* (https://www.projekte.hu-berlin.de/de/ai-skills) soll ein curricular integriertes Zertifikatsprogramm "Künstliche Intelligenz" an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin entwickelt werden, welches Studierenden aller Disziplinen die fachspezifische Auseinandersetzung mit KI-Methoden und KI-Technologien ermöglicht. Die Stelle hat die *Leitung des Projekts* inne und wird als Community-Katalysator*in Naturwissenschaften/Informatik den Aufbau des Zertifikatsprogramms für diese Disziplinen koordinieren und die Evaluation und Reproduzierbarkeit wissenschaftlicher Ergebnisse von KI-Verfahren beforschen. *Ihre Aufgaben*: - wissenschaftliche Dienstleistungen in der Forschung und Lehre im Rahmen des AI-SKILLS-Projekts - Projektkoordination und Teamleitung - Projektkommunikation - Mitwirkung am Ausbau bestehender und bei der Entwicklung neuer KI-Lehr-Lern-Settings, insbesondere für die Fachbereiche Informatik und Naturwissenschaften *Erforderlich sind*: - abgeschlossenes wiss. All papers will be subjected to a “double-blind review” by at least two members of the Scientific Committee. Based on Scientific Committee evaluation, a paper can be rejected or accepted by the Conference Chairs. In the later case, it can be accepted as paper or poster. The authors of papers accepted as posters must build and print a poster to be exhibited during the Conference. This poster must follow an A1 or A2 vertical format. The Conference can include Work Sessions where these posters are presented and orally discussed, with a 7 minute limit per poster. The authors of accepted papers will have 15 minutes to present their work in a Conference Work Session; approximately 5 minutes of discussion will follow each presentation. Publication and Indexing Papers accepted as posters are not published; they are only exhibited, presented and discussed during the conference. To ensure that a paper accepted as paper is published, at least one of the authors must be fully registered by the 4th of November 2022, and the paper must comply with the suggested layout and page-limit. Additionally, all recommended changes must be addressed by the authors before they submit the camera-ready version. No more than one paper per registration will be published. An extra fee must be paid for publication of additional papers, with a maximum of one additional paper per registration. One registration permits only the participation of one author in the conference. Papers written in English and accepted and registered will be published in Proceedings by Springer, in a book of the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems series, will be submitted for indexation by Scopus, WoS, DBLP, Google Scholar, among others, and will be available in the SpringerLink Digital Library <http://link.springer.com/>. Papers written in Spanish or Portuguese and accepted and registered will be published in a Special Issue of RISTI <http://www.risti.xyz/> and will be submitted for indexation by Scopus, among others.
