We would like to draw your attention to the KEMAI Spring School, hosted by Ulm
University.
KEMAI is the acronym of "Knowledge Infusion and Extraction for Explainable Medical
Artificial Intelligence".
The KEMAI spring school is scheduled on 1-2 March 2022 with internationally renowned
speakers.
Young female researchers are additionally invited to join us for the Women Networking Day
on 28 February 2022.
All costs related to accommodation and meals will be covered by Ulm University (max. 50

Content:
The spring school explores how to combine rule-based and learning-based approaches in
medical AI to obtain accurate predictions and consider interpretability and ethical
implications,
in particular
* Data Augmentation - Dealing with the challenges of few samples and many features
* Knowledge Infusion - Harvesting medical guidelines and enriching trained models
* Knowledge Extraction - Deriving medical guidelines from trained models
* Model Explanation - Communicating the decision process of trained models
Format:
International experts will introduce and discuss related contemporary research results.
Among others, we welcome
* Prof. Dr. Horst Hahn, director of Fraunhofer MEVIS, Bremen - Perspectives on
Collaborative AI Research in Medicine
* Prof. Dr. Nassir Navab, TU Munich - Robotic Imaging, Machine Learning and Augmented
Reality for Computer Assisted Interventions
* Dr. Julia Amann, ETH Zürich - Ethics of AI in healthcare: On the importance of asking
the right questions
+++++ Women Only Day ++++++
28 February 2021
In computer science, females are still underrepresented among those pursuing an academic
