We invite proposals for both **full- and half-day workshops/tutorial** in current and emerging topics in (or related to) Formal Concept Analysis. The workshop and tutorials provide an opportunity to discuss novel topics in an interactive atmosphere. They can concentrate in-depth on research topics, but can also be devoted to application issues. ICFCA 2023 will be a hybrid conference with a strong emphasis on on-site interaction. Therefore all contributors are required to present their work locally in Kassel. # Duration & format We welcome both full- and half-day workshop/tutorial proposals. We would like to encourage proposers to aim for a program that is both varied and interesting. For workshops, especially where the format is concerned, we would like you to think about ways of going beyond the usual list of presentations of accepted papers. Another way of extending the usual format is to include a specific challenge problem that can be addressed by the workshop participants, with a dedicated challenge session in the workshop program. Note, however, that the challenge should be only one of the components of the workshop, targeting a problem which is specific to the workshop topic(s). # Combined Tutorial & Workshop Especially for a relatively novel but rapidly maturing topic, giving an introduction of the state-of-the-art may go beyond the scope of an invited presentation. In this case, a half day tutorial followed by a half day workshop could be a good format. # Guidelines for proposals When proposing a workshop or a tutorial, please provide (at least) the following information: - A brief description of - the specific issues that will be addressed, - the reasons why the workshop/tutorial is of interest in these times, - the main research areas involved, - and what the workshop/tutorial will add to the conference (e.g., do you expect papers of a theme that would not fit the main conference?). - For workshops, - a draft of the Call for Papers, including information on accepted formats (e.g., regular papers, extended abstracts, oral-only presentations of relevant recently published or submitted contributions, etc.) - and expected format of the workshop (e.g., invited talks, presentations, poster sessions, panel discussions, challenge sessions, or other ideas for ensuring an interactive atmosphere). - In the case of a combined tutorial-workshop, please clearly indicate the format. - Any special requirements regarding logistics (e.g., poster stands, audio equipment), if applicable. # Submission For applying or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Program Chairs Domingo López Rodríguez and Dominik Dürrschnabel: icfca2023(a)lists.cs.uni-kassel.de. In recent years, the ability to retain a digital record of the volatile world has been of critical importance for ensuring that our collective history is available for posterity. Progressing research and disseminating state-of-the-art advancements in digital libraries are thus of supreme importance to humanity. The annual ACM/IEEE Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL) is the primary international event for the inter- and multi-disciplinary community of academics and practitioners in digital libraries coming from computer, information and social sciences, and other related disciplines. The deadline for late-breaking results and datasets is February 12, 2023. The submission formats are outlined below. *Research Papers* (deadline: January 29, 2023) Authors may choose between two formats: - /Full papers/ have at most 10 pages and report on mature work, or efforts that have reached an important milestone. They will get presentation slots of 20 to 30 minutes. - /Short papers/ have at most 4 pages and highlight efforts that might be in an early stage, but are important for the community to be made aware of; they can also present theories or systems that can be described concisely in the limited space. Short papers will get presentation slots of 10 to 15 minutes. *Late Breaking Results and Datasets* (deadline: February 12, 2023) This comprises submissions falling into the following categories: - /Late breaking results/ present new insights or information about research that was completed after the research paper submission deadline. - /Dataset submissions/ a new category that allow description of relevant research datasets. These need to be either fully publicly available or have to contain a publicly available subset. Late Breaking Results and Datasets submissions should be 2-4 pages and will be allotted a 5 minute presentation slot at the conference. *Submission Guidelines* All submissions must be original works, not previously published or under review for publication elsewhere, in English, in PDF format, and in the current ACM two-column conference format. Suitable LaTeX, Word, and Overleaf templates are available from the ACM Website (use "sigconf" proceedings template for LaTeX and the Interim Template for Word, https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template). Complete papers are required; submissions consisting solely of an abstract or those that are otherwise incomplete will not be reviewed. For all formats, references do not count to the page limit. Submissions are to be made via https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=jcdl2023 *All submissions will be rigorously peer-reviewed in a double-blind reviewing process.* *Submissions must be anonymous* and all references to authors' works have to be anonymized. We recommend using services like https://anonymous.4open.science/ to anonymously share code or data. Anonymized works that are available as preprints (e.g., on arXiv or SSRN) may be submitted without citing them. Reviewers will be instructed not to actively look for such preprints, and finding such a preprint does not clash with our submission policies. Am Forschungszentrum L3S sind*zwei Stellen*als *Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in (Doktorand/in, m/w/d) - Künstliche Intelligenz, Maschinelles Lernen oder Data Science (EntgGr. 13 TV-L, 100 %)* zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt zu besetzen. Die Stellen sind zunächst auf zwei Jahre befristet und bieten die Möglichkeit, zu promovieren. Der Umfang der Stelle entspricht 100 % der tariflichen Arbeitszeit. *Aufgaben* Bei L3S werden neue Methoden der KI und des maschinellen Lernens mit einem breiten Anwendungsspektrum entwickelt, das von der Produktion über die Mobilität bis hin zur Entwicklung von digitalen Zwillingen reicht. These papers are assigned a 10-page limit. Short paper: Ongoing works with relevant preliminary results, open to discussion. These papers are assigned a 7-page limit. Poster paper: Initial work with relevant ideas, open to discussion. These papers are assigned to a 4-page limit. Company paper: Companies' papers that show practical experience, R & D, tools, etc., focused on some topics of the conference. These papers are assigned to a 4-page limit. Submitted papers must comply with the format of Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing Series (see Instructions for Authors at Springer Website) <https://mkt.saisti.eu/got/3227-71ce2OOTe5rX>, be written in English, must not have been published before, not be under review for any other conference or publication and not include any information leading to the authors’ identification. Therefore, the authors’ names, affiliations and bibliographic references should not be included in the version for evaluation by the Program Committee. This information should only be included in the camera-ready version, saved in Word or Latex format and also in PDF format. These files must be accompanied by the Consent to Publish form filled out, in a ZIP file, and uploaded at the conference management system. All papers will be subjected to a “double-blind review” by at least two members of the Program Committee. Based on Program Committee evaluation, a paper can be rejected or accepted by the Conference Chairs. In the later case, it can be accepted as the type originally submitted or as another type. Thus, full papers can be accepted as short papers or poster papers only. Similarly, short papers can be accepted as poster papers only. Poster papers and Company papers are not published in the Conference Proceedings, being only presented and discussed. The authors of accepted poster papers should build and print a poster to be exhibited during the Conference. This poster must follow an A1 or A2 vertical format. The Conference includes Work Sessions where these posters are presented and orally discussed, with a 7 minute limit per poster. The authors of accepted Full papers will have 15 minutes to present their work in a Conference Work Session; approximately 5 minutes of discussion will follow each presentation. The authors of accepted Short papers and Company papers will have 11 minutes to present their work in a Conference Work Session; approximately 4 minutes of discussion will follow each presentation. Publication and Indexing To ensure that a full paper or short paper is published and presented, poster paper or company paper is presented, at least one of the authors must be fully registered by the 4th of January 2024, and the paper must comply with the suggested layout and page-limit. Additionally, all recommended changes must be addressed by the authors before they submit the camera-ready version. No more than one paper per registration will be published. An extra fee must be paid for publication of additional papers, with a maximum of one additional paper per registration. One registration permits only the participation of one author in the conference. Full and Short papers will be published in Proceedings by Springer, in several books of of the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems series. Poster and company papers will not be published, just presented in the conference. Published Full and Short papers will be submitted for indexation by WoS, SCOPUS, DBLP and Google Scholar, among others, and will be available in the SpringerLink Digital Library. Since its early years, Formal Concept Analysis has developed into a research field in its own right with a thriving theoretical community and a rapidly expanding range of applications in information and knowledge processing including visualization, data analysis (mining) and knowledge management and discovery. Two types of Workshops may be proposed: Regular Workshops and Project Workshops. Regular Workshops should focus on a specific scientific subject on the scope of CISTI 2023 but not directly included on the main conference areas. Each regular workshop will be coordinated by an Organizing Committee composed of, at least, two researchers in the field, preferably from different institutions and different countries. The organizers should create an international Program Committee for the Workshop, with recognized researchers within the specific Workshop scientific area. Each workshop should have at least 10 submissions and 5 accepted papers in order to be conducted at CISTI. Project Workshops are intended to promote the dissemination and facilitate the future exploitation of EU Latin-American and national project results such as EU/FP7, EU/Horizon, CSIC, FCT, QREN, Portugal 2020, Fund. Gulbenkian, CYTED, CAPES, CNPq, FINEP and other Projects/funding sources. The results to be disseminated may be preliminary project results (for unfinished projects) or the project final results (for already finished projects). Each project workshop should be directly related to a Project funded in a competitive manner by a National/International Science Organization. The Workshop should be coordinated by an Organizing Committee composed by at least two researchers including the Principal Investigator of the project. Each Workshop will have 1 article offered for 10 articles with paid registration, 2 articles offered for 20 articles with paid registration, and 3 articles offered for 40 articles with paid registration.
