Dear all,
Greetings! I hope this email finds you and your family in good health.
We are in the middle of finalizing the program for another 24hr. Transcontinental Meet-‘n-Greet, celebrating the philosophy of Karl Popper. That is, as announced last year, we continue the tradition of hosting this event during the second week-end of January for the foreseeable future. In 2025, it falls on Saturday, January 11. It will start at 3:00pm GMT (London, UK) on Saturday and continue until 6pm GMT on Sunday, January 12.
As you may already know, two important Popper scholars passed away in 2024: David Miller (1935-2024) and Mark Notturno (1953-2024). We will be remembering them Sunday, January 12 starting at noon GMT. For the latest version of the program, click here.
We still have some open time slots (1 or 2 hrs) between 3:30am and noon GMT on Sunday, January 12. If you would like to use one of these slots to facilitate a conversation on a specific Popper-related theme, send an email to ourkarlpopper@gmail.com.
We would also like to take this opportunity to invite you all to, if you have not done so already, join the googlegroup, ourkarlpopper@googlegroups.com. We created this googlegroup in 2020 for organizational purposes, but we have done little with it so far. There are tons of things that anyone can do to help with spreading the message of Karl Popper's philosophy.
We are looking forward to getting your suggestions and feedback.
Feel free to forward this email to anyone who might be interested in learning more about Karl Popper and his philosophy and/or who would like to help with the programming and running of the Meet 'n Greets, the googlegroup or the creation and management of the Popper-type dashboard.
My very best, Margaretha H.

If you feed them stones instead of bread, the young people will revolt,
even if in so doing they mistake a baker for a stone-thrower.
