I put a list of names on the BCC list of this note from the CC and BCC lists of a previous note.
Goal: Discussion of the theories and writings of C. S. Peirce and their relevance to current research in the cognitive sciences (philosophy, psychology, logic, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and anthropology).
I believe that we can have good discussions on CG list without a "barrage of quotations" from a certain subscriber to Peirce-List. Relevant quotations are valuable. But quotations should not be used as weapons.
Advantage of CG list: (1) The moderator only deals with procedural issues -- not with controversial issues about the subject matter; and (2) It has been relatively quiet for years.
